always in the run

Hey there!

No, I haven't forgotten you. I've just been REALLY busy, as never before. I know, I've been really bad at posting this year. I hope things change soon!

I took these pictures some weeks ago, and just finally got my way around posting them.

I am so excited to post about this skirt by Smooch The Label! I love the shape of it and I am impatiently waiting for it to be warm enough, juts so I can wear it with my bare legs. In the meanwhile, they will be worn with tights, which I don't mind at all...

shirt: thrifted, skirt: Smooch The Label (here), golden spiral ring: Marisa Diane Designs (here)

The ring I'm wearing is similar to the silver one I wore on this post, but in gold. I've been wearing them non-stop. They are super comfortable and give an edginess to any look.

Let me know what you guys think about the skirt and ring!

blank

Summer in Boston is extremely hot (which I'm sure I've mentioned several times), so I've been looking for white and light clothes. I realized I didn't own any short white dresses and went "window shopping" on the Internet when I found the dress I'm wearing on this post, from Galalabel.

I love dresses that aren't too short. I like being able to have the flexibility of transforming them into short dresses by adding a belt, or just using them the way they are. They can look like two different pieces.

This dress, especially, is more on the dressy side, but I think it can also look completely casual with a belt.

white dress: Galalabel, bag: vintage Chanel (used to be my mum's), shoes: vintage YSL, rings: Tiny Box, triangle necklace: Bea's Jewels, pizza nail decal: Sokay Designs

I scored these vintage YSL shoes at an antique shop in Newport. They are the best thrifted/antique/vintage acquisition I have!

Don't you just love thrifting?

my spring/summer nails

I haven't done any nail posts in a while, so I have pictures of a lot of the nail designs I have done in the past month or so. They can be fun to look at and I hope they inspire you while painting your nails this weekend for the upcoming week!

You might have seen most of the designs on past outfit posts or on my Instagram account iwantshoes. As usual, I took these pictures with my phone so some of them are a little blurry.

popsicles: I created these with a dotting tool and different nail polishes.
rings from: VSXNSTA

fourth of july nails: Just used red nail polish and rhine stones.
rings from: Tiny Box

summer flowers: I used different nail polishes and a dotting tool.
rings from: FromBrooklyneWLove

summer skies: Again, three different nail colors and a dotting tool.

jelly beans: I used red nail polish and water slide nail decals from I Heart Nail Art
rings from: Tiny Box

milk nails: I love the outcome of these. I think they came out so simple and beautiful. I will do them again using other colors. I used two colors and a dotting tool for these.
rings from: Tiny Box

pineapple: I used two tones of yellow nail colors, green, black, gold glitter, and a dotting tool. I loved these so much that I left the pineapple on my nail for two more weeks.
rings from: VSXNSTA

matte pink french tips: I used a pink and a matte nail color.

matte white french tips: I used clear, white and a matte nail color for these.
rings from: Amelia May

i heart nail art

I figured you weren't really able to see the details on my nails on the last post, so I decided to show you some close-up pictures of the nail designs I had that day.

They are water slide nail decals from I Heart Nail Art. They have so many designs. You should definitely check them out! I got three different ones.

You can cut them in different shapes and just play around with them and get creative.

Do you have a favorite nail design from their store?

nails of the month

I haven't posted any nail designs in quite a while, but guess what? I have collected photos of some of them during the past weeks.

I wish I had taken pictures of my nails with my camera. I never really think about it when the time comes, but thank God for phones and Instagram: the only reasons why I am able to write this post, as all the pictures were taken with my phone!

Excuse the dry hands and the pixelated pictures!

PS: Noticed the Prabal Gurung inspired nails? I did them right after writing this post!

F/W '13 NYFW, part 2: NAILS

The last post summarized pretty much everything I liked from NYFW this time, outfit-wise. Now, I have also been looking at the nail-designs that have been chosen to go with the different outfits, and here is a selection of my favorite ones.

I chose the ones I thought were most unique and never seen on other seasons' runway shows.

Creatures of the Wind: This one was my favorite one. I will surely try this out SOON!

Prabal Gurung: Actually, nevermind, this one was my favorite design.

Rebecca Minkoff: This is a cool one. It reminds me of shells and pearls.

Assembly New York: I have seen eyes on nails in the past, but I had never seen eye-lashes on nails! This was the most creative one (and probably the coolest too).

Alice and Olivia: I don't know why I never thought about this before...

I will probably be trying all these designs in all the colors, shapes and forms.

Do you have any favorites?

silver on grey

If you follow me on Instagram (which I highly encourage you to do;)), this nail design must be old news to you. These were my nails last week and wanted to share them with you because I thought they were also really easy to do.

I only used one nail color (Cream Soda by Ciaté), two studs, nail foil and an orange-red color to draw a cross on my index finger. If drawing the cross is too hard for you, you don't really need to do it. I'd say that the nail foil on its own looks cool enough.

These were all the materials I used on my nails:

I actually love how they turned out.

Let me know what you think!

Nail Designs

This was one of the first posts I wanted to do when I started this blog. I don't know why it took me so long to finally get it together.

One of my biggest addictions in life, are nail polishes. I love discovering a new nail color shade and chasing it down until I own it. This doesn't happen too often, because no one seems to come up with new colors nowadays. I feel that all the colors are already out there, and when someone comes up with something I haven't seen before, I instantly need it!

When I feel that I don't have any new colors to wear, I try coming up with nail designs that will make my nails look interesting (at least!). The following are nail designs I have done on some of my friends and on myself.

I hope you guys like them. And by the way, what are your plans for Thanksgiving?

Angela
