I figured you weren't really able to see the details on my nails on the last post, so I decided to show you some close-up pictures of the nail designs I had that day.

They are water slide nail decals from I Heart Nail Art. They have so many designs. You should definitely check them out! I got three different ones.

You can cut them in different shapes and just play around with them and get creative.

#MntrsMeetBoston: not-so-little black dress

I still remember my first encounter with Mentirosas by Fernando Claro. It truly was love at first sight. I was hanging around the streets of Instagram (as usual) in the search for cool new clothes, and there she was. She looked at me, I looked at her, and she said "Come in! I know you want to!" Obviously, you know the ending of the story... I couldn't resist, and here I am bringing you a post full of Mentirosas!

A little background: Mentirosas is an exclusive prêt-à-porter hand-made clothing brand. Every design follows current fashion tendencies but with its own added personality. Every single piece is unique, after all "Dressing-up is a way of expressing yourself. For all I know this dress could be walking on a hanger down the street, and look awesome on its own, but I decided to wear it and add some bold hot-pink lips, minimal midi rings, and a touch of badass with an earcuff and a neat nail design.

 When I came back home today, I had a box waiting for me at my door! Don't you just love that feeling of suspense? 

Of course, I ripped the box apart and... SURPRISE!

 I had been looking  for a leather or faux leather backpack for some time, but didn't seem to find anything I really liked. Most of the leather backpacks out there look exactly the same to me and I wanted something different. Just try googling "leather backpack" and you'll see what I mean. Most of them are the same model but in different colors. They are still beautiful but I don't want to feel like I am wearing a uniform with everyone else in the street.

I finally found something different. I think it is what I was looking for, and actually, even cooler than what I was looking for. This bag can be worn both as a purse and as a backpack. Today, I left my house wearing it as a backpack, but I the had to buy these HUGE books and needed some more space so I transformed it into a purse.

positive thoughts for Boston

Last Sunday, I walked by what would be the finish line of the Boston Marathon. There were people from so many countries taking pictures in front of it. I knew I had to check it out that day because on Monday (marathon day) it would have been almost impossible to access the area. 

Thinking back about the happy faces of the people that covered the streets that day, waiting to finally run the marathon or to support their loved ones who were running it, I would have never thought that 24 hours later something so horrific would ever happen in that same place. Boston, a peaceful city, home to students and people from all over the world (including myself), my home away from home, how could something this sad happen to you?

Today, I feel lucky to be safe and sound and to know that there are people looking after us. But, for those who had no chance to wake up today or who woke up without a loved one, I wanted to take some minutes of your time to ask you to send all of your positive thoughts and prayers their way, so that they can have the strength they need to get past this horrid event.

Taking pictures with only one hand is probably the hardest thing I have had to do for this blog. I just needed to show you these beauties that I received this week from Galisfly.com, all the way from Israel. 

I don't know about you, but I have the biggest crush on midi rings. Actually, if you've liked someone/something for almost a year, wouldn't that be love? Then, scratch that, I am in LOVE with midi rings!

I wanted to take the time to post close-up pictures of the rings, before you see them on an outfit post. There are two thin and simple gold plated rings and a thick one with small cut details on it. They are also pretty affordable. This stack of three rings is only $16 (see here).

I keep on playing around with them. You can use them so many ways. I also liked these ones made out of chains and these ones with the little hand. I want them all!

Killer Whale - nail tattoos

Who said you had to spend hours doing your nails to achieve awesome drawings? 

I was looking for nail studs and nail polishes on Etsy the other day, and stumbled upon the coolest thing ever! Remember those awesome water transfer tattoos you would use as a child? Now you can do the same to your nails. It is super easy and quick, and unlike nail stickers you don't have to worry about those clear borders being so obvious. I couldn't be any happier right now! Yes, I get really excited when I discover new nail things.

You can get creative with these. I am starting to think about my next nail design with the sharks!

one day getaway

I was able to be freed from both school and work this past week, and tried taking advantage of my free days by going to Newport. It is only an hour and a half away from Boston by bus and I think it is the perfect quick getaway. Especially seeing that the weather would be warmer this week.

I was hoping I could take more pictures during my stay there, but unfortunately, besides the fact that I sprained my foot and wasn't able to do much walking after the first day, I also passed a kidney stone and spent a whole day hospitalized. 

I know, how much worse could it get? Can't a girl have a few days for herself, without worrying about school, work, waking up early, or a sprained foot?

Oh well, I can't complain, at least I have some memories to share with you about the one happy day I had... I hope you enjoy the beautiful Newport Bridge pictures!
