I am the hurricane setting fire to the forests

Hi!

I know I have completely disappeared from the blog. It's a little hard to shoot and post as much as I would like to. I guess I've been busy with life in general, but I have been active on Instagram, so if you ever want to know what I'm up to while I'm away from the blog, you can find me there (@milkyinstant).

I have done a little bit of traveling since my last post: I went to New Orleans, Houston, Portland, Miami, and some Caribbean islands (in Honduras, Mexico, Belize and Cayman Islands). I've had a pretty good year so far and hope it stays that way. After last year, it was only fair.

I am debating whether or not I should post pictures from my trips. They were all taken with my phone so the quality is not the best.

Moving on to what really matters in this post: the pictures. I met with Melissa at the Arnold Arboretum for this shoot. If you don't live in Boston, let's just say we met at a very magical place. This arboretum is what fairytales are made of.

I wore this beautiful jumpsuit from Lavish Alice. It is one of my favorite clothing pieces, and it definitely is a showstopper.

I am not a Sunday morning inside four walls
with clean blood
and organized drawers.
I am the hurricane setting fire to the forests
at night when no one else is alive
or awake
however you choose to see it
and I live in my own flames
sometimes burning too bright and too wild
to make things last
or handle myself
or anyone else
and so I run.
Run run run
far and wide
until my bones ache and lungs split
and it feels good.
Hear that people? It feels good
because I am the slave and ruler of my own body
and I wish to do with it exactly as I please

bathtub series: bleu

Hi guys!

If you have been following my blog for the past month, you know that I did a beautiful bathtub series collaboration with Melissa. We even did a BTS video (which you can find on my previous post). I love the incorporation of fashion with conceptual/creative content, and every time Melissa and I get together, magical things happen!

On this third set of the bathtub series, I am wearing a dress by AKA which you might remember from last year's post (here). I believe they don't have it on their website anymore, but they have a lot of other cool stuff, so I would definitely check them out.

Also, notice how I paired the dress with My Kitsh jewelry, just like I did last year, but with completely different pieces.

digital noise

Hi guys!

Hope you're enjoying your first days of August. I sure am, although this is my birthday month and I really don't want to turn any older. I also don't want September to come by too soon. Seriously, where did the summer go? We only have a few more weeks of it.

On a happy note, I still get to wear cute crop tops for a little longer. This crop top and high waisted midi skirt are by AKA, the same store this dress is from. I still am obsessed with them. I'm telling you, this outfit looks way better in person than it does on camera.

The chain necklace and ring I'm wearing are from Jasmina Jovy's new collection The Chain on Chain, which is not yet up on their website but will soon be. They are part of the same set I wore on my last post. They have been a part of my daily must-wear accessories since I received them.

The level of detail on each piece is mind-blowing. Go and check out all their collections here!

Let me know what you guys think!

first days of summer

Hi guys!

A lot of really important events have been going on in my life, so I hadn't been able to shoot or post. Now that things are almost back to normal, I'll be able to post more. I have so many things to show you, it's overwhelming.

I am over the top excited to post about this dress from AKA. I have been following AKA for a while now and am obsessed with their summer dresses, and their whole summer collection (which you can view here). You'll see everything from spaghetti straps, to low/open backs, to crop tops and high waisted skirts. So, everything you can imagine in the perfect summer wardrobe, they have.

This dress is so light, it keeps you fresh during a warm summer day, and it's perfect for transitioning from day to night.

I thought this necklace by Kitsch was the cherry on top to this outfit. It's really simple, but still adds a statement to any look. I wear it all the time. Check out their site, they have great accessories at affordable prices. These stackable rings are only $9!

I missed you guys!

How have your first days of summer been? Are you doing anything exciting?

all-black

Hi guys!

I hope your week started off well. Mondays are not the best days, but a little blog surfing always makes them better. After looking through several blog posts I decided I should post too!

I had been waiting for this necklace to be mine for some weeks. I fell in love with it when I saw it on PROPS Etsy store, a hand-made jewelry store from Athens, Greece. My necklace is part of their Ethnic collection, which is based on Greek traditional designs and clothes. It's full of pom-poms, ropes, fringes, wood, and gold! You can see the rest of that collection here.

I love how the necklace boosts a simple t-shirt and makes it look somewhat elegant. I love the contrast it has against the black, and the life it brings to an all-black outfit.  It really stands out! I love all-black outfits, and they certainly don't have to be boring.

What did you guys think about my bag? It's from the British online store La Sleek Fashion. Isn't the black patent leather with the snake-skin effect beautiful? It is also surprisingly affordable!

They have so many great designs! I think the Karen, the Pixie, and the Pink Paper bags would also be great for spring.

Let me know what you guys think!
